Our Partnership with Cavell
Since 2014, Health Service Discounts has proudly partnered with the Cavell to champion their mission in supporting nurses, midwives, and healthcare assistants facing personal and financial challenges.
We all have a lot to thank medical professionals for and along with the Cavell Nurses’ Trust, we believe that we should offer the support they deserve. From disability to old age, domestic abuse and illness, there are several reasons why nursing staff may be faced with hardship, and Cavell Nurses Trust aim to transform lives and make recipients of their support happier and healthier.
Highlights of our Partnership
Cavell supports nurses facing challenges like disabilities, old age, domestic abuse, or illness. Its mission is to improve nurses' well-being and health, aiming to make their lives better and more fulfilling.

In addition to donating and fundraising to support the charity all year round, we run the Health Service Discounts Lottery. Through the lottery, we have raised funds to help Cavell continue helping nurses suffering from hardship.
Every time someone plays the lottery, 30p from every £1 is donated to a worthy cause. Since 2014, this has raised a fantastic £300,000.

Whether a midwife is unable to wash their uniform because their washing machine has broken and they can't afford to buy a new one or a retired nurse is struggling to make ends meet, Cavell provides much-needed help and support.
For over 20 years, we have been helping and supporting healthcare workers, from assisting them to save money to providing them with just some of the recognition and appreciation they deserve.
Are you wondering if you qualify for support from Cavell? You qualify for support if;
- You are a registered nurse or midwife.
- You are a returned nurse or midwife with a valid PIN number at the time you left the profession.
- You are/were a health care assistant, a nursing auxiliary or a maternity support worker in a nursing home or hospital with an RN or Midwife.
- You are facing financial hardship.
- Your household accounts have less than £4,000.
- You are currently living in the UK.
- You are/were working in the UK in one of the abovementioned roles.
Cavell has received an increase in requests for assistance, which is due to a variety of reasons, such as working-age poverty, mental health issues, financial problems, domestic abuse, and homelessness.
The donations received provide much-needed support to nurses facing these problems.
Different fun and challenging ways exist to get involved and help raise money for the Cavell. There is something for everyone, from bake sales to abseiling, coffee mornings, and participating in the Snowdon Challenge. The charity appreciates every penny raised to support nursing staff in need.
