The dress code at UK theatres is pretty flexible, so you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. From a casual t-shirt and jeans to a formal dress or tuxedo, anything goes! Most people will go for the more casual look, unless it is a theatrical event such as a press night or opening night and then they may get a bit more dressed up.

As you would expect, the best seats in a theatre are usually named ‘premium seats’. They’re often not the closest seats to the stage and are typically a few rows back. Generally they are located in the middle of the row so that you can see the entire stage and not miss a moment of the action.  

You will likely find that the cheapest seats in a theatre are in the upper balconies. You may hear the highest seats being referred to as ‘the gods’ which is a theatrical term meaning the highest areas of seats. These are usually the cheapest seats in the theatre.
