The Lockdown Latest

Just when we thought we were slowly getting our lives back we get hit by another wave of Coronavirus. The Government has recently introduced a new tier system which we have seen a number of restrictions tightened due to the rising number of coronavirus cases across the United Kingdom. On 12th October, the Prime Minister announced the new tier system which outlined local restriction would be put in place across England. Each region will now be Categorised as being ‘medium’, ‘high’ or ‘very high’ with each level having it’s own lockdown rules.

Confused to as what each tier is? We’ve listed them below:

Medium- tie

  • The “rule of six” applies. Socialising in groups larger than six people not allowed.
  • Businesses and venues can continue to operate but pubs and restaurants close between 10pm and 5am and must ensure customers only consume food and drink while seated.
  • If you work within a trade, you can continue to go into a household for work.
  • Takeaway food can continue to be sold after 10pm if ordered by phone or online.
  • Places of worship remain open but people must the “rule of six” applies.
  • Schools and universities remain open.
  • Weddings and funerals can go ahead with restrictions on the number of people who can attend (15 and 30 people).
  • Exercise classes and organised sport can continue to take place outdoors, and indoors if the rule of six is followed.
