NHS Wellbeing - FAQs

  • Wellbeing, also referred to as wellness, is another factor of our health that has significant importance. In the simplest terms, wellness is ‘how we are doing’, and how our environment affects us as people.  For many, wellness is personal and subjective, taking into account different factors such as our health, relationships, environment, and psychological state.

From your job to your diet, everything can contribute to your wellness, and with the NHS Wellness Plan, we want to support you and your health. With the NHS Wellbeing Plan, you will gain access to exercise videos, nutritional advice, and mental wellness support. Plus, with the support of Starks Fitness, we will show you how looking after your health and fitness is easy, fun, and accessible.

  • There are 5 areas of wellbeing to take into consideration, and by practising each of these steps, you can improve your mental health and wellbeing.

    1. Connection

Creating a connection with others and having great relationships is extremely important as they can develop a sense of belonging, offer support, and build your sense of self-worth.

    2. Fitness

Physical activity has a direct connection to your overall well being, it can help your self-esteem, and it can change your mood.

    3. Learning

Challenging yourself and learning new skills is great for your mental health.

    4. Giving

Offering your time through acts of kindness is a great way to improve your wellbeing, as it can create a sense of reward and purpose.

    5. Be Present

More often than not, we become so consumed by stress and tackling day-to-day life that we forget to be present. Paying attention to yourself and being present in the moment can be eye-opening. Plus, it can have a profound effect on your mental welfare.

  • Whether you’re a doctor, a nurse, or a part of the admin team, NHS staff wellbeing is extremely important to us, and we want to support you the best we can. We are launching our NHS Wellbeing Plan to help you feel your best.

From fitness videos, nutrition support, to wellness information, we have created a handful of useful support pages that will help you tackle your health goals.
